Here She is..Baby Emma

Alright so I have some time now to post about her arrival and how she is doing. Emma was born on Feb 11 at 11:04 am weighing in at 7 lbs 9 oz and 22 inch. She had her back repaired on Friday morning which was interesting all in its self but that's a story for another day. She did great with the surgery but I didn’t get to hold her until Sunday and Nick got to hold her on Monday. This last week went great she has been eating like a champ and has gained weight. She is weighing in at 8 lbs 3 oz and Friday is when she had her shunt surgery which went very well. I stayed over night at the hospital that night and luckily they where able to find some where for me to sleep. By Sunday she was eating almost like normal and seemed to be feeling allot better. Yesterday was her head ultra sound which I still haven’t heard the results of but I am assuming they are good. Right now she is getting her MRI which is a little scary just because they have to sedate her but I am sure it will be ok. Now tomorrow she will be released and then we go to uerodynamics test and unfortunatly our plan wont be leaving until 7:30pm and will get into Phoenix until 10:35pm which is a huge bummer but I think it will be the easiest way to go since it a non stop.

So some really positive things on Monday I went to change her diaper and cath her, well there wasn’t much out of the cath which is unusual for her. I finish her diaper realizing she had really gone in her diaper. Which was extremely exciting and has continued to go in her diaper. The physical therapist came and saw her last week and was amazed how much movement she had in her lower legs and even feet, she was also amazed how flexible she is and went over exercises to do with her to keep that. She can again today and Emma had showed even more movent then before in her feet. She said that will continue for the next couple of months.

Surgery day...... Please say a prayer

Today is Emma's shunt surgery and we are waiting for when it will happen it keeps changing. Poor baby is hungery and they keep moving the sugery up. I am hanging out with her trying to keep her calm. Mom and I said our prayer for her, and I got a couple of calls this morning to let me know they are praying for her.

I am very anxious about it but I know she will do great and she's in good hands. Most importantly this is something she really needs.!

For those I have not spoken to..

Well Yesterday was interesting to say the least. I ended up going into labor and delivery due to have really bad pain and had some bleeding the night previous. So I went and they told me I had pulled a grouin muscle which was causing the pain. My cervix are still the same when I went to L&D back at home but still having the same contractions. So they did a quick ultra sound and NST to make sure Emma is ok and everything looks good...well I was told there that everything looks great the fluid around her is good and they sent me on my way. Well I still an Ultra sound scheduled for that day and they still wanted me to go. So we went and they basically did the same thing they did at L&D.

So I called Rachael from the study but she was out and got a phone call from her hours later saying that they are concerned about my fluid levels around the baby and they want to monitor them closely and have me do anthor ultra sound on Thursday, and if the fluid levels are lower then what they are now they will want to go ahead a deliver her. Now she said the doctor that I will go see today will be able to go over the ultra sound with me and hopefully explain in more detail what will happen if that does end up being the case. I will write more when I know more of whats going to happen and what to expect.

Thanks for reading..
