Our oh so needed update!

Geeze I feel like a broken record but seriously it's like no time to sit on the computer and blog. Well things for Emma has really been good! Well she did get another ear infection in the same ear which I just dont think it ever went away. Emma got her first hair cut, haha my Mom kept giving me a hard time about her hair because it was just all over the place. So the this picture is right after I cut it but I only cut the front.

I swear if was like she turned two and all the sudden the words just keep coming. Its a new word everyday. It's such a relief to know its one less thing we have to worry about. Emma has gone through a serious growth spurt she has just shot up. The bad side to this it has really made her tight on her left side I have really been having to work her a couple times a day so she can have good range of motion.

She has been working so hard in physical therapy that you can really see the progress she has made, She is pulling up every where she can. In therapy we work on strengthening her legs. Her therapist took a chair and has her practice sitting and standing up. Now we have moved to no chair and getting her comfortable getting back down when she pulls her self to stand. Poor thing she gets so scared after she has gotten her self up onto something she cant figure out to get down. From what her therapist said her body hasnt learned those signals yet so it feels to her like she is out of control. So what we are working on will help fix that so she feels comfortable about what she is doing.

So I am been trying to come up with something for Emma to do while we are doing yard work in our back yard and I came up with a Sandbox and it turned out to be a huge hit. We spent lots of time outside yesterday and Emma didn't even want to go inside she just wanted to keep playing

Which is totally awesome because I can start gardening and get my backyard ready for summer.

She also got a Water table for her birthday from Nana and Papa and that was also a huge hit except I couldnt keep the dogs out of the water :)

So we have a new addition to our family. We first rescued a Saint Bernard that was 6 months old and didnt turn out so well due to the fact she didnt get along with Dozer so we where all very sad because we had to take her back, but with much searching for the right dog we finally found her and I guess things just happen for a reason because this dog was meant for our family.

Her name is Daisy she is almost 5 month's and she is a Saint Bernard. She is already 60 lbs so I would say she will be a VERY BIG DOG! but seriously she has the best dispossession I am going to train her to be Emma's service dog. By the time Emma would actually have a use for a service dog Daisy will be the ideal age to do so.

And best part great with the kids and of course Dozer as you can see...

These videos are a must watch so if you get this in a email click on the links to watch : )

Emma Turns 2!

"Very belated update"! Sorry...

Wow here we are another year and I keep saying wow I just cant believe my little baby is so big now. I'll be honest its really hard and makes me a little sad probably because there will be no more babies for me. So little bitter sweet but I love watching Payton and Emma grow up.

We had a great time on her birthday. We went to the Aquarium and had some fun but unfortunatly Emma was recovering from an ear infection and eye infection so she was still little moody from that.

Then Sunday my parents joined us for a birthday dinner and of course birthday cake. That week Nick was off and we enjoyed having him home.

Our month of January

It has been quite awhile since the last time I posted but thank god not allot has been different. Emma finally got her new AFO's and we have been working on standing. We havent been working with her walker right now because she is working on building the muscles in her knees to keep her legs from bowing out. She has done great she is pulling her self up on the couch the coffee table she is so determined.

She is finally starting to really talk now. Its so awesome her new words she says is puppy, ni night, baby, why, whats up, Hey, No, and I dont know..which is hilarious I say Emma where's you cup and she says I dont know! Everyone was so concerned about her not talking and now look she easily has 20 words she says now its just on Emma's terms not yours. She had been seeing a speech therapist but I did get ride of her two weeks ago, and I really didnt like her and the funny part was I dont think Emma did either which maybe she picked up from me who knows, but Emma signed all done during one of the sessions with her and it was the first time I had ever seen her do it with me trying to get her to do it a million times she tells the speech therapist she was all done with her and then said bye. Which I of course thought was hysterical but kept it to my self since she didn't catch it. Needless to say I really dont think she needs a speech therapist any more it was all on Emma's time and no one else and she proved everyone wrong, that you need not to worry about me.

She had a urology appointment on Friday which went awesome, Doctor says her bladder still looks some what normal and she is still voiding on her own. So still no cathing and her kidneys look great. Which was a total relief to hear. He also mentioned about potty training her and to give it a shot in a couple months to see how she does.

We are so close to her Birthday its almost scary. I cant believe my little girl is already growing up so fast. Everything has been really good for her this past month with no issues. She truly is amazing and everything she does, a blessing in every way.

I thought I would share some of the Christmas picutres they are just so cute. Payton got a new bike and Emma a cozy coupe and the look on both of there faces when they saw them was just so awesome. Emma later that morning actually fell a sleep in her car it was the cutest thing ever!

These next pictures are our Christmas pictures we took and they turned out pretty well if you ask me.!

I couldnt help my self from not sharing these pictures. Emma got a kitchen for Christmas from her Papa and Nana and I would have to say it is probably her favorite as well. So I have been sticking her in her stander to play and her kitchen and she loves it, matter of fact one day I hadnt dont it yet and she asked me to put her in it. She know it helps her play with everything. Which is awesome because she needs to be in her stander so it has become a win win situation.

This picture she was actually talking to her Nana, She had Hello.. Nana.

Her and Payton will actually play with the kitchen nicely together with out me it is totally awesome!

They have actually started playing much better together but I tell you it has seemed like forever before that would ever happen its always someone yelling or sreaming No or thats mine.

Anyways I hope everyone enjoyed the much needed update I will post another one for Emma's birthday and share pictures.

"Please Forgive me"

Wow I am so behind on the blog and I am determined to finish this entry no matter what! So since my last post Emma got her cast off and two days later her foot swelled up and got super hot and was all signs of a break...well to make a long story short I FIRED HER last doctor so to speak. I am just so done with him so we took her to a new doctor to find out she did have a fracture and so Yep she got yet another cast but dont worry she already got it off after Thanksgiving. Last week she got casted for her AFOS finally "YAY"!

We go next week to pick them up, and last week we also had her IFSP for the state which is an assessment of what she has accomplished and what new goals we should be making and if their are any other concerns we might have for her. So we have added Speech therapy to the mix she barely qualified. She says about 7 or 8 words consistently and knows 3 signs so she isnt completely behind but I think she will get there in her own time. Speech therapy will just help her get there faster which will be good.

Unfortunately Emma has been experiencing some really weird things and at first I didn't want to think to much about it but it is starting to worry me. So I want to say it started a week ago when she did it the first time where she threw up at night and I had no idea until I came into get her in the morning. When it first happened Nick put Emma down for bed with a bottle of milk (which I never do) so I just thought that was the cause of it because she's not used to it.

Well about 4 days go by and we put her down for bed and she got so upset because she didnt want to go to bed she threw up again. So this time we thought ok she just got her self so upset she made she self puke. Then again 3 days later last Friday afternoon Emma woke up screaming from her nap and I go in there and she threw up and continued to throw up. So now I am thinking ok maybe the milk? But very weird because just out of no where the milk is now bothering her?? So Friday I dont give her any more milk and try to give her light things on the stomach but she is still acting fine like nothing is going on with her, but Friday night she woke up again crying and was sick all night so then I thought it must just be a bug because she was better later Saturday afternoon. So she is totally fine again nothing going on then Sunday night she throws up again. and then last night she woke up 3 times crying like she didnt feel good. Well back tracking a couple of days we where all siting on the bed and noticed her itching her neck. It was was red from her itching it and it was where her shunt tube is, so I tired not to over react and just watch her she did it twice and havent noticed it since.

So last night I was sitting in bed and started thinking well this could just be acid reflex or something along those lines but then I realized last time we thought it was acid reflex it had to do with her shunt and when we fixed that it went away and she had no more tummy problems. So I am calling her neuro surgeon today to see what they think and if he can see her. For one thing I am sure of is she is not sick this is NO STOMACH BUG.. so now we just have to figure out what could be causing her to get sick.
