Just one of those things..

Well things have been crazy since we have gotten back from California. Everything had been really calm and then all the sudden its crazy, but hopeful. I can't remember if I had mentioned in previous post that Emma's left foot has gotten real tight and I had been waiting for an Orthopedic appointment for her for the last month to have him check it out. So we go on Wednesday and he seems to think if we work harder at stretching her then it will get better but wanted to do a week of having a cast on her foot to see if it will stretch her out. I asked him about her heel cord and if that is an option and he said since he has done it once before it has developed scare tissue so she would have to be put under to do this but felt very confident that we can make this work with doing a cast and stretching it more. Ok so we go home with a cast and seriously 5 o'clock rolls around and I notice her foot looks like it had slipped a little so I mark it so I can make sure it doesnt slip and more and next morning it has slipped even more. I call the doctors office first thing and leave a message for the doctor. Then 9 am nothing yet and her foot has really slipped by this time and I email the doctor because he told me in our last appointment to email him if I have problems. So now its 10am and I was like this is crazy because I knew she was going to have horrible marks on feet. So finally I called demanded to speak to someone and was able to get her in. So we get there they take the cast off and of course what do they find those lovely marks on her feet again. UGH geeze so he says well come back in two weeks and really stretch her and we will see where we go from here. I was like was so no new cast? Nope her feet are to bad so we need to wait. What the heck I mean seriously talk about a huge waste of time, and now wait longer for a solution. So we will work harder at stretching but I can honestly say I am not sure how that is possible considering I do everyday and therapy 3 times a week but I guess its not enough.

This weekend we went to a birthday party and Payton got to go bowling for the first time and it was so cute and he had a blast! Here's a video...

Then the most exciting news is Payton is starting Preschool tomorrow!! Yay so excited and finally get to make friends and maybe even learn something. He is so excited, and the school is right across the street to it makes things easy. We are only starting off with two days a week Tuesday and Thursday 12-2:30 so it will be good!

Vaction with Grandma's

We got back late Tuesday night from vacation, and it was allot of fun! We got there around 4 on Saturday went out for dinner with my Mom's cousin and her family( which Payton had a quite of bit of fun with).First day we got to go to the beach and both kids just had a blast. It's funny because Payton forgot what it was like at the beach and we went last summer. We dug for crabs and found one and Emma played in the sand and of course Payton got knocked over by a wave.

Then our second day we went to Balboa island and had lunch and of course got chocolate covered bananas on a stick. Then got to ride the car fairy which Payton couldnt believe what was going on, and got to see seals. Then went back to Grandmas and went swimming which is always fun time.

Then Tuesday came it was already time to go back home, but our flight wasnt till 8:50 so we had quite a bit of time to hang out before we left. We went to the beach for the last time and to dinner and Payton went with Grandma by himself to see the tide pools and had allot of fun before we left. It was a sad good bye but lots of fun.

Oh our summer fun!

Just a quick update.. and fun pictures and of course more great video's!
Emma is doing so awesome really starting to pick up the whole crawling thing. Her physical therapist had been gone two weeks on vacation and was pleasantly surprised to come back and see her crawling. I have been lacking in updates and pictures so thought I would share a bunch.

This video is of Emma actually crawling and I finally caught it on video because every time I went to grab the camera she would stop. She is pretty amazing and pretty determined to move.

My silly Kids have a thing with sticking there tongues out : )

Now that Emma can move her favorite thing is to find the dog and lay with him

And My totally awesome Kid Payton has learned how to dive for rings..pretty awesome if you ask me!

Yay for Emma...

Ok so quite a difference in just three days. Something just clicked and she just started moving all by her self. She kinda reminds me of an inch worm. I caught her moving all by self and ran for the camera to capture the exciting moment. Now there is no stopping her, she was moving all over the place. So here's some videos of it that I just had to share!

You can cry if you want too..

Wow I dont even know where to start, but I can for sure say this I am one proud Mama. I am so excited to share this video with everyone. To most people it may not look like much but to me it is so much more. On Wednesday we got Emma to push up and move forward and then she got up again and went forward all by her self and laid down and did it all over again. I was in disbelief that I had just witnessed this. So we did it again yesterday and she tried it again. But today I got video of it and it was even better then before because if you look closely she moved her left leg up this time. In the video her therapist is not moving her legs she is helping her keep her legs in where they need to be.

I would recommend turning down the volume and putting it full screen since its side ways and it's hard to see what your looking at. But if I where a bettin kind of girl I would say in no time she will be crawling!

Also no babies got hurt in this movie : )

"Fun In The Sun"

It's so crazy how you can be down so low and then be up so high again. Things have been going so great with her I almost feel it isn't real. We have been approved for 2 hours a week of physical therapy and we also meet our new DSI person, who seems totally awesome and on top of things. We hope next week we will start with her. She said she works in all areas so I am very excited.

Then in physical therapy this week her therapist is very happy how well she is doing. He actually thinks her standing has really improved and she isnt bowing her legs as much as before, and is able to stand for longer periods of time. So we are working on her being more stable when standing, then we will be able to start working on weight transitioning so we can get to the ultimate goal! I'm so excited things are moving along, I want nothing more for her to be mobile in some way.

Her neurosurgeon called today to check in and see how Emma was doing. I let them know she has been doing great and I really thought that shunt adjustment had done the job. He said we will hold off on another MRI for 3 months check back in see how things are going unless problems occur again. So very good news all around and looks like we will be going on vacation this summer!

I think Nick had a wonderful Father's day, Saturday he finally took Payton to see Kung Fu Panda 2 and had a great time. Sunday we went out with Grandpa (my dad) and had a nice lunch with everyone. Things seem like it couldnt get any better : )

"Oh Happy Day" : )

Our house has exploded with laughter and smiles once again. I felt that we would never see the day again that my princess was her super happy self again. I can't even begin to explain the joy I feel seeing her play and laugh. Its weird because for almost entire month I hadnt taken any pictures of the kids, which made me very sad when I realized it. The last week or so I have taken so many to make up for lost time : )

Turned out of the shunt was what was bothering her. It was dialed down to low and I think that is what was causing the throwing up and head aches. Also since the gaging and reflex problems have gotten better. We had her ISFP meeting today with early intervention (which for those who dont know what that is its government services that provide the physical therapy). I requested a another hour of PT a week and we will be getting DSI which is a service just reinforce what PT is doing so we will be looking at 3 times a week now. Which is exciting because this last month has been so hard on her we have really fallen behind on everything and she will have to work real hard to get back where she was. I will be talking to her PT tomorrow to see what he thinks about getting her a mobile stander. Since she isnt even crawling yet I would love to see her mobile in some way. Also he wanted to give her time in hope's she doesnt need derotation straps which helps the bowing/turning of her legs. So I will be asking about that as well.

So all is well for the last week and I hope we keep this up, because we all need a break from this horrible time.
